1994 - Dormy is Founded

The journey begins in Åmmeberg, forty kilometres south of Örebro. Lars Johansson works as a pro and runs the golf shop at Askersund Golf Club. During the summers, Mats Hedlund also works in the shop. In 1994, they decide to jointly invest in a golf shop in Örebro and the company Dormy Golf & Fashion is founded.

1995 - Moving after only one year

The company already outgrows the first store of 32 square metres after a year. A new store with 150 square metres of space is opened and the sales continue to grow and after another year, the company is also doing mail order catalogue sales and online sales. The stock warehouse, store and office are now spread out over various premises in Örebro, which is making logistics difficult. It is impossible to continue in these premises.

1998 - Online sales begin

2000 - 5 years later

In 2000, a golf warehouse is opened with 1,000 m2 floor space totally dedicated to golf in Örebro. From now on, the company is marketed as Dormy Golf.

2003 - New opening in Malmö

Sales continue to grow both in store and via mail order and an investment in a golf warehouse in Malmö becomes reality.

2005 - Dormy Comes to Stockholm

In the strategy for the future there are already stores in Gothenburg and Stockholm, and the latter opens in Barkarby Outlets in November 2005.

2008 - The number of stores doubles

In August 2008, Dormy Golf in Norrköping opens their doors and in December stores in both Sundsvall and Göteborg Bäckebol are opened. Dormy Golf can now be found from Malmö in the south to Sundsvall in the north.

2009 - Dormy Outlet

During the spring of 2009, Stadium Golf in Ängelholm, previously Edins Golf, is bought and changed into a golf outlet.

2012 - Expansion in the big cities

In June 2012, store number two opens in Gothenburg, this time near the World of Golf training facility. The outlet concept is further expanded with another store at the end of 2012, when the store in Kungens Kurva, south of Stockholm, opens.

2014 - Ninth Golf Warehouse

In the spring of 2014, the ninth golf warehouse opens in Solås Centrum in Jönköping. It was a location that was considered for quite some time and when the right premises and business location was found, Jönköping is added to the Dormy map. The outlet store in Kungens Kurva, south of Stockholm, also changes their concept and becomes a regular golf shop with a complete Dormy range.

2016 - Dormy grows like crazy

The year 2016 was an exciting year in Dormy’s development. At the end of May, a golf warehouse in the Väla trading centre in Helsingborg opens. The day before Midsummer Eve, the rebuilding and expansion of Dormy Outlet in Ängelholm was completed. The new premises in the Outlet provides another 1,000 m2, offering even more bargains. On the 25th of November, two new Dormy stores opened. The third Dormy warehouse in the Stockholm region opens in Arninge, at the same time as Dormy Örebro moved to new larger premises at Salamandervägen 29.

2018 - Expansion overseas

Dormy begins serving customers beyond Sweden’s borders via e-commerce. The Nordic countries of Norway, Denmark and Finland now form part of the onward journey.

2020 - We look south towards Europe

Germany is next in line to be offered Dormy’s range via e-commerce. During the autumn of 2020, the German website is launched.

2021 - Another three countries are launched online

France, the Netherlands and Austria can now be found at Dormy.com. During October these three countries were added to the website as part of the ongoing European expansion.
