Originally, Wilson Staff Model U was a prototype for Wilson’s PGA Tour players but it’s now been made available to the general public. This is a long iron with a hollow construction in the head which gives more distance and forgiveness. The high-strength C300 face delivers optimal ball speed and lets the ball go further from contacts across the face. A seven-gramme weight has been placed in the bottom of the sole to give a better launch angle and more forgiveness.
Center of Gravity, A 7-gramme weight has been placed in the sole which pulls the centre of gravity down into the club head. This makes the club more forgiving on contacts outside the sweet spot, while also making it easier to get a higher launch angle.
Hollow head, The club head’s hollow construction gives an increased COR across the entire face. The added COR also allows a better launch angle to get the ball to lift more easily. This construction also provides forgiveness as the ball’s speed from the club head is also higher on poorer contacts.
Tour Design, At the request of Wilson’s tour players, a longer utility iron has been developed. Its design has been inspired by direct feedback from the tour to instil confidence at address. The club has been designed to perform at the highest level.
