The face is forged and shaped like a bowl that extends down towards the sole, around the toe and topline. This is called a Speedshell face, and it allows the face to flex in a way that increases forgiveness and produces longer shots, even on contacts outside the sweet spot. A large weight is placed low and far back in the club to create a higher ball flight with more spin. In addition, the hollow construction is filled with a soft foam that dampens vibrations, which ensures a soft and comfortable feel at impact.
